Here's something you might have thought you'd never see - a Federation mission specialist with Treachery. Given the relative lack of Federation missions requiring this skill, just what is he useful for?
Terran Empire players no doubt have one answer. Add Ferengi and Bajoran (if you're using Rom and/or Commander Leeta) icon missions to that Federation selection, and you suddenly have quite a few places Ensign Davis can "apply himself" for a 5 point bonus. (And that's just before you consider other options like Espionage or Bribery.)
Even if you're playing straight-up Federation with absolutely no Treachery missions, Ensign Davis can still come in handy. His skill can help you meet the requirements of Q Gets the Point, and he's exactly what you need for In the Pale Moonlight. And of course, he is SECURITY-classification, with plenty more dilemmas and missions calling for that. Having all this available on a personnel you can start the game with just by seeding Assign Mission Specialists is not bad at all.
Combos:
- Ensign Davis + HQ: Secure Homeworld: How about securing Earth using Treachery instead of Honor? There's 5 points to be had there, not to mention that if your opponent surprises you with a Homefront, Ensign Davis puts you 1 SECURITY closer to being able to use the game text of your Office of the President.
- Ensign Davis + Dr. La Forge + Assign Mission Specialists + Investigate Sighting: Add 29 CUNNING, and you can easily nab 45 points at a mission usually reserved for Romulan decks.
