Sometimes that nebula you might be approaching isn't a nebula after all - it's The Cloud! This dilemma represents the space-faring creature which looked like a nebula full of omicron particles. When Voyager entered its body, the creature reacted violently to the intrusion and damaged the ship.

In the Voyager-only environment, the Cloud is the perfect dilemma to slow down an opponent. It damages a ship, which will cause "rotation" damage (since there is no Battle Bridge side deck in this format) reducing the ship's RANGE to five and in the case of the Bothan Vesselimage, disabling its cloaking device. It will also "stop" the ship and crew until the end of the opponent's next turn, giving you valuable time to do what it takes to win. What makes the Cloud so nasty is that the Voyager expansion has just two personnel who have both MEDICAL and ENGINEER. If you have a Common Thiefimage steal a valuable piece of equipment or have the Hull Breachimage before the Cloud hits, your opponent will more likely be without the requirements to overcome the dilemma.

In the open environment the Cloud can be oh so nasty. Many players try to avoid the deadly planet-only dilemmas that came in the Mirror, Mirror and Trouble with Tribbles expansions by solving just space missions. In Voyager, you'll learn space isn't safe either. Set up the Cloud with Hippocratic Oathimage, Tarellian Plague Shipimage, Make Us Goimage, Chula: The Chandraimage, Spatial Riftimage, A Fast Ship Would Be Niceimage, or Kelvan Show of Forceimage - anything that might cause the opponent to be without a requirement to get past the Cloud safely.

    Combos:

    • The Phageimage + The Cloud: Mr. Thadenimage, sir, you won't be helping your fellow Vidiians pass this dilemma.
    • Containment Fieldimage + The Cloud: Suspending play to download that The Original Series equipment card to pass the dilemma might not be worth the opponent losing their next turn.
