    Palukoo

    Large spider-like creature inhabiting the Bajoran moons. One-time food source for Resistance fighters. Caused Dax concern, since Trill/symbiont biochemistry cannot tolerate insect bites.

    Unless Resistance OR ANIMAL present, "bites" a non-android (random selection). If Trill with symbiont, dies now (discard dilemma); otherwise, disabled until countdown expires.

    This card bites... personnel, that is.

    Any non-android personnel is potential prey for this creature Dax wasn't sure was a "spider or a dog." Upon receiving the bite, they are "stopped" for two turns. If they happen to be a joined Trill, the allergic reaction of the Palukoo bite is severe enough to cause death. Fortunately, when Dax encountered this in the episode, Kiraimage was with her. Will your opponent be so lucky?

    Chances are, they will not. After all, only a Resistance personnel or an ANIMAL can ward off the Palukoo. For anyone other than the Bajorans, this isn't exactly easy. And that's even before setting up a dilemma (perhaps a Chula) to filter such personnel out before the Palukoo.

    Combos:

    • Hate Crimeimage + Palukoo: Hate Crime is great for picking Kira out of a group of Federation or Cardassian personnel, preventing her from using her Resistance knowledge against the Palukoo.
    • Edo Probeimage + Palukoo: Palukoo is about as close to a sure-fire stopper as you can ask for. You can use that to charge your opponent 10 points if they don't have another way to complete the mission that turn.
