    This new ship is among the fastest in the Federation fleet, and unlike its rivals requires no special staffing icons (such as AU or U.S.S. Enterprise-E). For an affiliation whose greatest strength is solving missions, getting to them quickly is a great asset. What's more, you have a matching commander available in Fleet Admiral Shanthi, who can be downloaded with either Ready Room Door or Going To The Top. Add in extra added protection against the Borg Ship dilemma and Borg-affilated ships, and you've got a card ready for almost any deck.

    • U.S.S. Thunderchild + space missions: The Thunderchild is the perfect ship for attempting space missions, as it can help you against two of the nastier dilemmas you can find there. Its SHIELDS of 12 vs. the Borg Ship dilemma will save you from a direct hit, and its RANGE of 10 will help you take care of Cytherians that much faster.
