    Tanis

This Card-Review article was written by Chris Heard and was published first on "Decipher's Website (decipher.com)" at May 17th, 2001.

In the television series, Tanis tried to tempt Kesimage with offers of highly developed psychokinetic abilities and transference to Suspiria's subspace realm of Exosia. Fortunately for Kes fans, the lure failed. In the Star Trek CCG, you'll be more interested in getting Tanis out of Exosia and onto your starship, particularly if you're playing a Delta Quadrant deck in the comprehensive environment.

Tanis is one of the few sources of Empathy native to the Delta Quadrant, and his double dose of that skill, honed under Suspiria's tutelage, could prove helpful when facing Cardassian Trapimages or curing personnel affected by Frame of Mindimage (though he'll need help from Kes or Nimiraimage to accomplish the latter). If you can get him into the Alpha Quadrant (not too difficult with the Temporal Micro-Wormholeimage, Barzan Wormholeimage, or traditional Wormholeimage interrupts), he could give your Romulans a boost at Investigate Sighting IIimage. He also provides a fine option for an Unseat Dictatorimage mission-solving team. Of course, three of his other skills - SCIENCE, Biology, and Leadership - are dilemma-busting staples.

But if you decide to use Tanis in your deck, one caution: be sure there aren't any vengeful sporocystian life-forms lurking around when you report him. He just might turn on you.
