Saldin

Just like the Klingons in the Alpha Quadrant, the Kazon in the Delta Quadrant have very few CIVILIAN personnel compared to other classifications. You might not think to include this universal Kazon CIVILIAN in your deck, but there are some very good reasons to do so.

First off, Saldin is a cook so he'll help you Restock Supplies for 35 points.

Secondly, he's a CIVILIAN with SECURITY as a skill. The Borg can't assimilate Kazon if you have The Kazon Collective in play, but they can still destroy your ships. The solution? A Kurlan Naiskos. Use Saldin's double personnel type to aid you in meeting the Naiskos' seven-personnel-type requirement. Once that's met, go blow up a cube for 45 points!

Finally, Saldin can staff a Kazon Shuttle by himself. This by itself isn't a big deal, but look again - Saldin has Computer Skill, which means he can take control of an opponent's empty ship with Commandeer Ship. With the objective Boarding Party you can crash a Kazon Shuttle (with just Saldin aboard) into an opponent's empty ship and then take control of it. You might even consider multiple Saldins aboard multiple shuttles and throw a huge surprise Saldin boarding party for your opponent!

And don't forget that Saldin is downloadable with Defend Homeworld! Not too shabby for a CIVILIAN, huh?

Combos:

• Saldin + Kazon Shuttle + Wormhole x2: Your opponent had better keep a personnel aboard every ship or else one of them won't be his for long.
• Saldin + opponent's The Higher... The Q-er: Don't experience any more -icon cards than you want to.
