As a Non-Aligned Vulcan, Sakonna makes a non-Federation Vulcan theme deck even more appealing than it became with First Contact Expansion. Being able to use the Vulcan Mindmeld
interrupt can be a very potent advantage - ask any Borg player what they think of the Interlink Drone! Even if you aren't choosing Sakonna for her species, you can get a lot of use out of her skills. Her ENGINEER will get you out of many tough dilemmas (and is required by many big Federation missions). Treachery will fit like a glove in the average Cardassian or Romulan deck, while providing access to that skills to more Honorable affiliations. Physics and Acquisition round out her skills, both useful in the right situations. Don't forget Sakonna's Maquis icon (one of three ways she qualifies to pass Arms Deal
).
Combo:
- Sakonna + Arms Deal: Block your opponent's mission stealing by self-seeding a few Arms Deals. The dilemma will "stop" the average Away Team or crew, while Sakonna will provide 5 bonus points if you get there first.
