    Obedience Brings Victory

This Card-Review article was written by Evan Lorentz and was published first on "Decipher's Website (decipher.com)" at Jul 14th, 2000.

Many Dominion players have tried every trick to avoid using Jem'Hadar in their decks. In doing so, they've eliminated the risk of White deprivation, but have also removed many important skills for mission solving, not to mention cut out a major element of the Dominion as seen on Deep Space Nine. Here's a card for those players that respect the true Dominion "order of things."

To play Obedience Brings Victoryimage, your Vorta must have just "rationed" Ketracel-Whiteimage. This means they must have prevented a Ketracel-White card from counting down, so you'll need at least one Jem'Hadar "consuming" the White, and at least two White cards present (one that actually does count down, and another which the Vorta prevented from doing so by "rationing"). Including the Vorta, that's four cards you must pull together to play Obedience Brings Victory. Is it worth it? Absolutely!

The interrupt allows you to immediately draw two cards. One recovers the card draw spent on getting Obedience Brings Victory in the first place; the second is all "profit." It's like having a version of The Traveler: Transcendenceimage exclusively for the Dominion affiliation. And because it's not an event card, it doesn't stay out there turn after turn begging for Kevin Uxbridgeimage to do something about it - your opponent will have to have Amanda Rogersimage ready and waiting each turn you try to take advantage of your rationing. Best of all, Mirror Imageimage doesn't allow your opponent to copy the benefit of Obedience Brings Victory as he could for a Traveler or Kivas Fajo - Collectorimage.

Better still, in the place of one of the two Obedience card draws, you can opt instead to download another Dominion-related card. You can download Subjugate Planetimage to the Vorta's location, setting up a mission attempt without spending a seed slot on the objective. Or you could download Victory is Life to your hand, setting up for a point bonus and free equipment next time you complete a mission or win a personnel battle with your Jem'Hadar.

Receive this reward from the Founderimages. May it keep you strong.

    Combo:

    • Obedience Brings Victory + Primary Supply Depotimage + Assign Support Personnelimage + Defend Homeworldimage: Three cards allow you to essentially seed all the elements you'll need to play Obedience Brings Victory. You can seed two copies of Ketracel-White at your Primary Supply Depot, Assign Support Personnel to download any of a number of Jem'Hadar, and Defend Homeworld to grab Deyosimage to perform the rationing.
