Every affiliation save the Bajorans have a generic ship weapon, and this is the beast for the Ferengi. It has the standard ATTACK +1 and DEFENSE +2 bonuses associated with many other weapons, coupled with an extra +2 ATTACK bonus for your Ferengi ship. So the Kreechta with Ferengi Energy Weapon becomes a handy 12 Weapons and 10 Shields without any further enhancements - not too shabby. The other nice thing about this weapon is the ability to randomly kill one personnel of any type; there's nothing more annoying than hitting your opponent's ship and then missing the personnel because the wrong types just happen to be aboard.
One way to use this card's effect is against your opponent's armada of small ships. Load someone onto a Ferengi Shuttle and fly them to greet a K'vort armada. Play an Auto-Destruct Sequence, and deal 2 cards damage to each ship present with Shields < 8 (most of them). Unless they're heavily staffed, there may be a lot of empty ships floating around all of a sudden. Must be worth a Parallax Arguers or 20, I'd have thought!
Combos:
- Ferengi Shuttle + Auto-Destruct Sequence + Battle Bridge side-deck of Ferengi Energy Weapons: A good way of dealing with small ships like Borg Scout Vessels.
