    Two of Nine, Transtator Drone

This Card-Review article was written by Will Hawkins and was published first on "Decipher's Website (decipher.com)" at Mar 30th, 2007.

I love multi-function devices. This Christmas, I received a stapler/flashlight/ruler/hole puncher/scissors/pencil sharpener/file/saw/screwdriver tool. So when I saw Two of Nine, Transtator Drone, I knew that he was a good card to have. For only two cost, you get a Borg with seven strength, which is above average among Borg, and three skills -- Anthropology, Science and Security.

The best part, as always, lies in the "Order."  Two of Nine can destroy an event, can download a card that has a cost of five or more, allows you to draw three cards, or can change a flat tire. Well, maybe not change a tire.  But talk about versatility!  You can replace the Negation Droneimage, Quintessenceimage, and Severed Linkimage with this one personnel. You may even decide to include those cards and just run Two of Nine as another option. The great part is that he goes back into the deck allowing you to play him again later. If you do not want to wait until you draw your last card to play Two of Nine again, then just use the Facilitation Droneimage to play him off the bottom of the deck. One of my favorite tactics is to send nine Borg personnel to attempt a space mission. After that first attempt, I will have a few dilemmas underneath, and I will not want to attempt with as many personnel. However, I do not have the range to fly back and unload those personnel. So I use Seven of Nine, Part of the Greater Wholeimage to unload some of those personnel and to search for interrupts I need. Two of Nine can be used whether I have Seven or not, and I get more cards drawn than if I had used Seven. In the final analysis, Two of Nine does many things for your deck. He gives you versatility when played, and gives you the option of thinning out your deck.

    Live Long, Prosper, and Diversify.
