    No Kill I

This Card-Review article was written by and was published first on "none".

With a cost of two and the consumption of three dilemmas, the text on No Kill I stops an entire planet mission attempt. True to its title, no one dies as a result of this lone dilemma, but all of the mission team's personnel - whether an away team of five or fifty - are stopped.

On its own, No Kill I results in four overcome dilemmas, which is expensive when considering that future mission attempts may consist of that number of (or fewer) personnel. Still, it may be the response to those mammoth away teams that previously encouraged you to include cards like Limited Welcomeimage or Pursuit Just Behindimage in your dilemma piles. Also, considering No Kill I's printed cost is only two, dilemmas with additional effects, such as Hard Timeimage or The Dreamer and the Dreamimage, may complement it very well.

Of course, with every good dilemma comes a good way around it. In fact, one Admiral has a particularly good chance of preventing and overcoming No Kill I. Then again, if you didn't see it coming the first time, you may need to rely on small away teams to avoid having to face the Horta twice. Beware a planet dilemma strategy including both No Kill I and Outmatchedimage, though, as that may be an effective means of stopping your personnel several times at one mission, especially with a well-orchestrated draw deck including Machinationsimage.

So stop the killing, and everyone along with it!
